Video/Audio/Data Transport

The following video, audio, and data signals are available for fiberoptic transmission with the Optiva platform. Signal insert cards may be configured for almost any combination of the following signals.

  • 3G HD-SDI, SMPTE 424M Video
  • HD-SDI, SMPTE 292M Video
  • Dual Link DVI Video
  • VGA & Component Video
  • DVB-ASI Video
  • SD-SDI, SMPTE 259M Video
  • 12-Bit Composite Video
  • 8-Bit Composite Video
  • S-Video
  • AES/EBU Digital Audio
  • Balanced/Unbalanced Analog Audio
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • 10/100 Ethernet
  • USB 1.1/2.0 Serial Data
  • RS-422/485 Duplex Serial Data
  • RS-232 Duplex Serial Data
  • Contact Closure

Multiple configurable signals on a single card are time division multiplexed onto a single fiber. For lower bandwidth signals, multiple adjacent cards may be multiplexed onto a single optical fiber. CWDM optics are available to further increase capacity onto a single fiber by a factor of up to 16. All links are bidirectional. Various optical link budgets may be accommodated with single mode and multimode fiber.

Where applicable, Studio Broadcast industry standards are strictly applied to all communications. As a result, not only are Optiva’s transmission standards sufficient for all industries, they in fact exceed the expectations of non-broadcast industries providing exceedingly higher quality video and audio transmission.

The Optiva platform may be managed and controlled via SNMP.
